«The Country Girl», an original pochoir fashion plate from La Gazette du Bon Ton, 1921 (Planche 51), drawn by Charles Martin, a French Art Deco illustrator present from the magazine's first issue and known for Cubist-inflected, angular figures. It is one of the artist's own imagination compositions rather than a couture commission, hand-stencilled in the review's celebrated colour process.
