Les Modes Parisiennes 1851 N°458 Compte-Calix
Two women in full-skirted gowns stand beside a tapestry stool in this authentic 1851 fashion plate from Les Modes Parisiennes, drawn by François Claudius Compte-Calix: on the left a white off-the-shoulder gown printed with pink flowers, with three flounced tiers and shoulder bows, on the right a red gown with a short velvet jacket, lace cuffs and a white lace cap. A preserved printed witness of the fashions of its day.
