«Un Nécessaire» (A Vanity Case), Planche 26 of La Gazette du Bon Ton, 1924, presents a jewelled nécessaire by Cartier, the Paris high-jewellery house founded in 1847. No illustrator is credited. An Art Deco accessory rather than a couture gown, it is preserved as an original pochoir print, the finest colour reproduction of its day.
