Two women in long evening gowns by Louiseboulanger pose on a pale studio set with jagged dark cut-outs: in front a light draped gown with a plunging V neckline gathered at the waist and small flowers at the shoulder, and behind, on the steps, a shimmering gown with short cap sleeves and an open back, in this original 1936 clipping photographed by Cecil Beaton, beneath the line «Silhouettes droites, jupes amples» (Straight silhouettes, full skirts).
