The sensational event of the London season was a ball given at Covent Garden by the Foreign Press Association in London. The highest English society are involved and most have performed there glitzy costumes. Two of them were particularly noticed; that of Baroness de Meyer and Ms. Carl Leyel.
Ms. Meyer Baroness was a strange Arabian princess whose flexibility and grace were enhanced by a short skirt like butterfly wings.
As for Mrs. Carl Leyel, she lifted the astonishment under the unexpected appearance of an Egyptian mummy covered with hieroglyphic drawings; but this mummy, thanks to an ingenious device could move and it was infinitely troubling to see live and a dance which seemed to be a dream necropolis.
