BALENCIAGA, famed Spanish designer, made these four models in his house at Barcelona. They're part of a collection recently brought to New York by Nancy, Inc. Replicas at I. Magnin, Calif.

First: a black wool dress with Balenciaga's beloved basque, tiny waist, surprise back ... an unmistakable bustle, extravagant fullness.
Second: Illusion of hips on a beige wool riding-jacket, black skirt.
Third: Festooned hip drapery, a back cascade on a black wool dress.
Fourth: Cocoa-brown wool suit-crisscross bands to focus eyes on hips
