Detailed description
Unmistakably 1942 is the scene opposite, painted by Eric. An apartment entrance- it might be New York or any seaboard city-equipped with sand and shovels and other air- raid fighting implements. A tenant-quick changed from her service uniform- leaving for a benefit party. Here she wears Mainbocher's dress and scarf of brilliant blue silk crêpe, masterfully cut, trimmed with blue beads
