The ballet encompassing three art forms has always held a fascination for the creative: Yves Saint Laurent, since leaving the House of Dior, has devoted his talents to it. His costume sketches reproduced here, are (opposite and above) for carnival scenes to Darius Milhaud's music; and (below) for a pas de trois evoking the circus and acrobats, set to the music of Marius Constant.
These dances, interwoven with the singing acts of Zizi Jeanmaire, are among the divertissements with which the producer and choreographer, Roland Petit, has opened his company's new season in Paris.
