LADY MAC LOD (sic), Mata Hari, has revealed the Sacred Dances of India. The most admirable is the dance of Chandra seen here the figures of a hieratic beauty. It is famous for temples of Vishnu, the festival of the moon, the earth mother of Fertility. First there are ritual poses. Chandra, the priestess, a prelude to the invocation. Then animating she seems to rush towards the Goddess who attracts and she calls. She is embodied in a sacred flower whose petals entr'ouvrent the vivifying rays of the moon. Mentioned by one of those beautiful summer nights ending, where there is a pale gold star, these dances beautifully reflect the eternal symbol that inspired them.
