RAPHAËL

French fashion house. Of Spanish origin, Rafael Cebrian Lopez (Madrid, 1900) is the son of a tailor. In 1924, the young designer settles in a small FaubourgSaint Honore Street workshop. According to Women's Wear Daily, he makes tailors until 1939 when he moved George V Avenue. At this new location, he also features evening dresses. In 1947, he launched "Réplique" fragrance. The house seems to have ceased operations in early 1950. Its premises are echoed by Hubert de Givenchy in 1959
