BIOGRAPHY

Most of the time, Frédéric Pineau devotes himself to scenery and costumes design for the Opera as well as theatre and musical comedies in a specific way, built on diverse works such as Erté from Cecil Beaton and the multicoloures world of Walt Disney.

For each one of his designs he successfully transforms the deepest thought of the work into the best suitable costumes. Often it is restored into a pomp extravaganza such as "the Arabian Nights Tales" (Die Entführung aus dem Serail, Turandot, La Reine de Saba, Polqeucte .. .), or brings us in the gothic fogs (Lucie de Lammermoor, Elephant Man, The Tales of Hoffmann), the sobriety of the refined lines (Parsifal, Carmen, Cavalleria Rusticana, Dialogues des Carmélites, Salomé .), or into the greatest disproportion of the Baroque (Madame l'Archiduc, La Dame Blanche, La Clemenza di Tito, La Grande Duchesse de Gerolstein .. )

In between two operas played either In Paris, Toulouse, Palermo, Venice, Hanoi or in Cairo, he designed the scenary for show in United-States, for Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas (Winds of Gods) or for a musical (Sweeneu Todd, Man of La Mancha J, in Disneyland Paris for the aquatic show of Muriel Hermine (Crescend'O), dressed a classic play (Les Caprices de Marianne, The Flea in the Ear.) or designed the creatures for a cybernetic musical (The Wings of Daedalus).

He is proud to have signed models for artists he admires Regine Crespin, Gladys Knight, Juliette Gréco, Debbie Reynolds or for Jeanne Moreau performing Marguerite Yourcenar (L'Oeuvre au Noir)

He has always participates and got deeply involved in the Festival Massenet in Saint-Etienne, France, since the opening
(Cléopâtre. Panurge Thaïs, Le Roi de Lahore, Roma, Hérodiade, Werther, Sapho, Le Jongleur de Notre-Dame, Ariane .. .)

His gouache paintings have lead to many exhibitions in Paris and abroad.
